The fundraising page on Virgin Money Giving is up to nearly £20k. Well done to everybody! The money we have raised so far has funded 6 shipments of medical supplies (one and a half tons) and Christmas Shoeboxes to the people of Makeni . The next proposal from Sister is that we buy a container (approx. £3k) and fill it with various items desperately needed for the school when it reopens. The container will then be converted into a small shop in front of the school where students can use their business skills to sell things made in the school.
We are working with St Anselm’s College in Birkenhead to raise money to purchase the container, fill it with the most suitable tools and equipment and ship it over to Makeni.
Sister Mary has set down what she would really like to be doing to ensure that the children develop skills which will ensure they can find employment or be independent when they leave the school
